There are many like it, but this one is mine.
After rewatching The Matrix, I immediately thought that a Desert Eagle model in my portfolio would look pretty neat. Even if Artstation is already filled to the brim with other Deagle models already.
As I choose to base this model on the same ones used by the Agents, which are the earlier IMI versions of the gun. This initially caused a bit of confusion as I was unsure why contemporary examples looked vastly different but where still referred to as MK XIX's. For a while I assumed what I was modelling was earlier MK VII that had been modified to accept a .50 AE barrel, hence the MK VII marking on the side of the gun (I kept it as I thought it looked cool).
On a side topic, what happened to the other seventeen versions of the Desert Eagle?
This was a pretty smooth process overall considering I had to get acquainted with a new laptop half way through the project. I have also chosen to incorporate my usual info dumps into the actual posts themselves, means I can waffle more in the description.
